Lecture by Jeremy Yudkin

A lecture on musical aesthetics by Boston University Professor of Music and Chair of Musicology and Ethnomusicology Jeremy Yudkin.

“Not a Note Too Many: Beethoven, Miles, and McCartney,” reflects on “what is great music, and how it is distinguished from music that is merely good.” To do this, Yudkin enlists three classics: Ludwig von Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, “Blue in Green” from the iconic Miles Davis album Kind of Blue, and Paul McCartney’s “I’ve Just Seen a Face,” from the Beatles album Help!
